Knights damsels and dragons @ Cardiff castle

Gwyrosydd Primary school created and recorded marvellous, mythical, meandering tales where the princess saved the day! And all done in just over an hour!! The children and teachers were as magical as their wonderful stories.

Here is one of the recordings.Knights may

Hendygwyn, Whitland abbey

What a way to finish the school visits! Ysgol Hendygwyn were techno wizards by the time we left! The children also performed a special ceremony returning the tile momentarily back to its rightful place in the abbey church. A moment in time not to be forgotten. Their prayers were heartfelt.

Cerdd am Cymru

Ysgol Y Dderi made up prayers and poetry for the princes and for Wales. They performed a ceremony at the altar near to where the Welsh medieval princes (or kings) are buried.

Ysgol Llandudoch

The children really enjoyed exploring Garageband and Audacity and made up a lovely sea shanty for their signing Celtic Christian saints! Saint Tudoch would be proud!

Blessing stone!

Children from year 5 and 6 at Ysgol Llandudoch demonstrate the echoing, magical blessing stone at St Dogmael’s! We had great fun exploring sounds and sights all day at the abbey and beyond. Their Gregorian style singing inside St Dogmael’s abbey was wonderfully meditative.

Mynachlog Nedd

Mynachlog Nedd Junior school began their exciting journey towards making their own film about Neath Abbey. The children, Mr Morgan and Mrs Davies really got into the spirit of exploring the ruined Abbey through various games and activities. Were there ghosts amongst the crumbling walls? The children seemed to think so! They were also good at finding their own special places and contemplating. I wonder if the monks would have approved?
